Teaching

When you sing, you begin with "Do, Re, Mi"?!

Whether you are ‘starting at the very beginning’ of your training as a singer or you are already an experienced performer; I am here to help you improve your singing and ‘find the fun’ along the way. I have been teaching singing since 2008, in a range of settings with singers of various ages and levels of experience. My aim is to ensure that all my students develop and maintain a healthy, functional vocal technique, while fostering a love of music and performance. I teach at Arts Educational, The Sing Space and my private studio in West London. I trained as a classical singer, gained an M.A. in Solo Voice Ensemble Singing from the University of York and then in trained in Musical Theatre at Associated Studios. I am a self confessed voice geek and I’m always looking for opportunities to learn more about the voice and performance. I am a member of the Association of Teachers of Singing (AOTOS), the Incorporated Society of Musicians and Equity and I have attended vocal teacher training courses taught by top voice professionals including Jeanie LoVetri, Mary King, Linda Hutchinson and Coral Gould.
What students say:
When I thought about trying to sing again after a gap of many years, I was worried about starting, and nervous about getting help. And then I found Rosie! Her warmth and encouragement have helped me regain confidence, to find a range I never knew I had, and to begin to extend and explore new possibilities. Lessons are demanding but fun, and clearly underpinned by tremendous technical knowledge and confident teaching skills. But more than the fascination of how it is done, her passion for music and performance – from classical repertoire to musical theatre and beyond- has made learning to sing again so engaging and rewarding. It has also proved an unexpected but real boost to wellbeing! So thank you Rosie. And to anyone returning to singing, or thinking of starting, I would say go ahead, and I am sure you will feel exactly the same way.

In just a short period of time, I’ve learned so much! Rosie embodies what you’d expect from a great teacher – She really gets me and really knows the perfect way of bringing me to the results I want! She’s encouraging, sweet and filling me with motivation! All the while, she focuses on technique and extends of my vocal skills. She’s the best!
